Water treatment services for Charlotte-area homes

We test your water, recommend only what the results call for, supply certified equipment, and keep it working. Here's everything we offer and how it fits together.

Start here: testing

Water testing: For city water, we read your utility's annual report with you. For private wells, we arrange a certified-lab panel. Everything else on this page depends on that result, which is why we don't recommend equipment before it.

Treatment by water source

  • Well water treatment: Iron and manganese, low pH, sulfur odor, hardness, bacteria, arsenic and radon, each matched to a lab result. NC DHHS notes that many North Carolina wells have too much lead, arsenic, iron, manganese or low pH.[source]
  • City water filtration: Taste and odor from disinfectant, drinking-water RO, and PFAS questions. Charlotte Water uses free chlorine and is soft,[source] so the right answer here is often smaller than people expect.

Treatment by system type

  • Reverse osmosis: An under-sink system that pushes water through a membrane to reduce many dissolved contaminants at one drinking-water tap.[source] Look for NSF/ANSI 58 certification.
  • Water softeners: Ion exchange for hard water. Needed on some wells; rarely on local city water. We'll tell you if you don't need one.
  • UV disinfection: A UV lamp chamber that inactivates bacteria, viruses and protozoa; it doesn't remove chemicals.[source] Look for NSF/ANSI 55 Class A.
  • Whole-home filtration. Sediment and carbon for taste and odor at every tap, covered under whole-home filtration for city water and in well treatment trains.

Keeping it working, and paying for it

  • Care Plans: Scheduled filter changes, an annual certified-lab retest and priority service, for any brand of equipment.
  • Packages: Five starting points, from Kitchen Tap RO to Well Water Complete, each confirmed or changed by your test results. No prices online; every package is quoted.
  • Financing: Financing available, plus a plain-English guide to judging any financing offer before you sign.

How our model works: retailer plus licensed installer

Clear Bridge Water Co. is a retailer. We test, recommend, size and supply equipment, and we sell service plans. We don't perform plumbing work. In North Carolina, plumbing work is regulated under state licensing law,[source] and South Carolina has its own licensing statute.[source] So installation is performed by an independent, licensed plumbing contractor under a separate agreement with you, and we coordinate the handoff.

  1. Step 1

    Test

Utility report review or a certified-lab well panel.

  2. Step 2

    Recommend

A written recommendation and quote for equipment, service plans and testing, with the full price before you sign.

  3. Step 3

    Install

An independent licensed plumber handles the installation under their own agreement with you.

  4. Step 4

    Retest and maintain

A follow-up test confirms the result, and a Care Plan keeps it that way.

The full step-by-step is on how it works, and the legal detail is on licensing and installation. Check whether we cover your town on our service areas page.

Questions we hear

Where should I start?

With a test. On city water, that's your utility's report; on a well, a certified-lab panel. Request a quote and tell us your water source.

Do you install the equipment yourselves?

No. Installation is performed by an independent, licensed plumbing contractor under a separate agreement with you. We supply the equipment and coordinate. How installation works.

Do you work on both city water and wells?

Yes. The approach differs: city water starts from your utility's report, while wells start from a certified-lab panel because nobody else tests a private well for you.

Do you service equipment from other companies?

Yes, through Care Plans, for any brand.

Start with an honest answer about your water.

Tell us about your home and water source. We'll recommend testing first, and only the equipment your results support.
