Packages
Water treatment packages, built around your test results
Every package starts from your test results
For city water, that means your utility's annual report, read with you. For a private well, it means a certified-lab well panel. The package names below are starting points. If your results say you don't need part of one, it comes out. If they show something the package doesn't cover, we'll tell you.
The five packages at a glance
| Package | Problem it solves | What's included | Ideal home |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kitchen Tap RO | Better-tasting drinking water at one tap; a bottled-water habit you'd like to drop | Under-sink RO certified to NSF/ANSI 58; a PFOA/PFOS-certified model when PFAS reduction is your goal; dedicated drinking-water faucet | Any city-water home |
| City Water Whole-Home | Chlorine smell in the shower and taste at every tap | Sediment prefilter; whole-home catalytic carbon (NSF/ANSI 42/53 certified media); kitchen RO for drinking water | City water, larger homes |
| Well Water Essentials | Staining, metallic taste, corrosive water or a possible arsenic issue | Certified-lab well panel first; sediment filter plus neutralizer and/or iron & manganese filter, as tested; kitchen RO for drinking water | Private wells |
| Well Water Complete | A lab report with several issues to solve at once | Everything in Essentials; softener only if your hardness test calls for it; UV certified to NSF/ANSI 55 Class A, plus arsenic RO or radon aeration as tested | Failing lab report or new well |

City water packages
Kitchen Tap RO
Reverse osmosis forces water through a membrane that rejects many dissolved contaminants, producing treated water at one faucet.[source] It's the simplest upgrade for drinking and cooking water. If PFAS is your concern, look for a model whose certification specifically lists PFOA and PFOS reduction. EPA's enforceable limits for PFOA and PFOS are 4.0 parts per trillion; other proposed PFAS limits are under review.[source] More on reverse osmosis and PFAS filtration.
City Water Whole-Home
Charlotte Water disinfects with free chlorine,[source] which some people notice in the shower and at every tap. Whole-home catalytic carbon addresses taste and odor throughout the house, with RO at the kitchen for drinking water. Some nearby utilities, such as the City of Monroe,[source] report using chloramine instead, which is one reason the media is chosen from your utility's own report. Notice there's no softener in this package: Charlotte Water is soft, at 32 mg/L hardness in 2025.[source] Details on whole-home filtration.
Well water packages
Well Water Essentials
For well problems NC DHHS lists as common in North Carolina wells, such as iron, manganese and low pH,[source] plus sediment. The certified-lab panel comes first, and the filter train is chosen from it. A kitchen RO handles drinking water. See iron and manganese and low-pH water.
Well Water Complete
For a lab report with several findings, or a new well. It adds what the results call for: a softener only if hardness warrants it, UV certified to NSF/ANSI 55 Class A when bacteria are a concern, and arsenic-rated RO or radon aeration when those are found. See UV disinfection and arsenic in well water.
Care Plan: for every system
Any package, and any brand of equipment you already own, can be paired with a Care Plan: scheduled filter changes, an annual certified-lab retest and priority service.
Pricing, financing and installation
We don't publish prices, because the right system depends on your results and your plumbing. You get a written quote with the full price before you sign. Financing is available. Installation is arranged separately with a licensed plumber; here's how that works.
Questions we hear
Which package is right for me?
Start with your water source. City-water homes usually begin with Kitchen Tap RO or City Water Whole-Home; well homes begin with a lab panel and then Essentials or Complete. Request a quote and we'll recommend one from your results.
Can I change what's in a package?
Yes. Packages are starting points. Anything your test results don't support comes out, and we'll explain anything we add.
Why isn't a softener in the city water packages?
Because Charlotte Water and most nearby reservoir-fed systems are soft. A softener only makes sense when a hardness test calls for one. Try our softener check.
Are the products in each package NSF certified?
Each package specifies the certification to look for. Specific products are chosen for your quote, and you can look up any model in NSF's public listings before you buy.
